Junior Section

The Junior Section meets on Tuesday night from 6.30 to 8.0 pm and boys pay a weekly £1 fee to support the running of the section. There are two officers in the section – Marian Brown and Linda Roberts. Assistance is provided by three helpers – Sheila Hamer, Susan Murphy and Graham Townley.

Boys take part in a variety of indoor games and outdoor games during the summer when the weather is fine. Each week boys are encouraged to carry out achievements to help them qualify for badges. The achievements fall into five categories:

  • Adventure
  • Community
  • Interest
  • Physical
  • Spiritual

To qualify for a badge they must complete achievements under each of the five categories. There are six badges – white, green, purple, blue, red and gold.

During the year there are numerous events and competitions that the boys can attend or take part in. There is a swimming gala, sports day, cross country run and 5 a side football for the energetic ones. Other events include a Bible quiz and reading competition, Christmas carol service, pantomime and Camelot day out.
